Kewaunee Lighthouse Gets Live Streaming Camera

The City of Kewaunee and Kewaunee Lighthouse Preservation Committee partnered with Excel Technologies for a new pan-tilt-zoom camera that’s available to the public on the Internet. The camera was originally intended for fishing enthusiasts to see Lake Michigan conditions prior to traveling down to the lakefront. This purpose has now expanded to lighthouse preservation enthusiasts who want to see the Kewaunee Lighthouse and the general public to see a beautiful view of the City of Kewaunee. Excel worked with the team to identify the best camera and method for the installation. Carlton Hunting and Fishing Club, a local conservation organization, contributed the funding to purchase the camera and installation. This partnership of local government, non-profit organizations and Excel Technologies provided a fun and unique addition to the City’s website that serves many aspects of its community as well as its tourism industry!
