Precast Design Project Spotlight - The Landing at LegendsOur fourth quarter Precast project spotlight is The Landing at Legends (Regency Multifamily) in Champaign, IL. This apartment complex is the first of its kind in Champaign as a luxury 55 & Better community. Also known as “Active Adult Communities,” these apartments will be available for ages 55 and older with no assisted living options provided. For this project, Excel provided Precast Engineering and Drafting services. Precast podium structures, consisting of precast columns, beams, slabs, and hollowcore, were utilized to allow for below-grade parking for tenants. Nearly 1,700 pieces of Precast framing, totaling just below 13 million pounds were fabricated and shipped from South Beloit to Champaign.
