McLean County Law and Justice Center

Excel provided Precast Engineering and Drafting Services for this 80,000 SF addition to the McLean County Law and Justice Center. The expansion will increase the building capacity by nearly 60%.

The nearly 70’-0” tall exterior walls were comprised of sand-blasted and thin-brick precast architectural cladding panels. The building’s shape included numerous obscure angles and the window openings featured a deep taper on two sides. With the unique architectural features and unusual panel geometry, Excel’s team needed to worked with the precaster to ensure panels were handled properly to alleviate cracking concerns.
