Excel has partnered with Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) on a variety of projects throughout the United States. This project, known as Project Viking, took place at their Zumbrota, MN facility.

Our team was tasked to design a new wet mix room, associated dryer tower, and powder packaging lines for DFA’s Dairy Ingredient Division. The Zumbrota facility is the newest custom drying plant to support the wide variety of dairy ingredients made by DFA. Improving the overall personnel flow throughout the existing plant and expansion was central to the plant design to ensure DFA continues to exceed current requirements for food safety. New employee welfare and front office areas were also completed as part of the major expansion to the Zumbrota facility.
