Woolen Mills Lofts
Woolen Mills Lofts is a unique example of how a historic building can be repurposed. Originally constructed for heavy manufacturing, the facility is a conglomeration of building additions stretching from 1881 to 1962. Over this 81 year time period, construction methods and technology changed again and again, and each building addition to Woolen Mills was entirely unique. Giant steel beams, hot-riveted columns, first generation steel trusses and wood king-posts are just some of the many building elements that appear in the 60 residential dwelling units now housed within.
