Our team designs a full range of low voltage electrical systems. These systems provide security and accessible devices located throughout the facility.

  • Corporate & process networks
  • Predictive Wi-Fi modeling
  • AV and video conferencing systems
  • Site & building security
  • Electronic access control
  • Camera systems with expected field of view
  • Fire alarm & emergency communication radio repeaters

Arc Flash studies are used to identify electrical hazards that could potentially cause fires, explosions, injuries, or significant downtime. The findings from the study help uncover the incident energy that a worker could be exposed to and how to protect the worker in case of an arc flash accident.

  • Site survey to verify existing electrical infrastructure
  • Model electrical system in EasyPower
  • Short circuit current calculations to verify breakers are rated properly
  • Coordination study and recommended breaker settings
  • Provide arc flash labels for distribution equipment
  • Provide overall one-line diagrams of each service
  • Final report summarizing results and recommendations

Our team provides four-hour or eight-hour on-site safety training classes to plant staff. The training encompasses many aspects of electrical safe work practices. It is NFPA 70E certified and meets OSHA’s annual training requirements.

  • Review short circuit current & arc flash energy levels
  • Likely causes of arc flashes
  • Regulatory requirements
  • NFPA 70E
  • How to read Excel’s arc flash label
  • Protective clothing requirements
  • Review industry standards
  • Review lockout tagout procedures

BIM is at the forefront of the construction industry, and Excel utilizes the technology to the greatest extent possible. Our team leverages the power of BIM to assist in coordinating existing conditions, identifying interferences, and solving constructability issues during the design process.

  • Utilize Autodesk Navisworks Manage for clash detection, tracking, and reporting.
  • Designs done to LOD 300 while BIM coordinated and projects requiring fabrication done to LOD 450.
  • All disciplines design in BIM for seamless project coordination.
  • High-level perspectives are easily generated and modified for owner review and approval.
  • Hanger locations generated for Hilti to expedite field installation.
  • Prefabrication drawings generated to expedite field installation.
  • 3D scanning and Matterport are used to generate new 3D Revit models of existing facilities.
